Revolution Idle Challenges Guide.jpg

Revolution Idle Infinity Challenges are being unlocked at 7;1 Infinity Upgrade. Challenges are an Infinity Resets that impose some limitations on the run, but if you manage to finish it, they will reward you with additional multiplier stated in the Challenge and each Challenge will add +1 o the Infinity Point (IP) multiplier per infinity.

It's part of Revolution Idle Guides series, where you can find the rest of the guides on the game.

You might want to visit Revolution Idle Ultimate Beginners Guide to learn more about game mechanics.

You can activate the challenge by clicking on it several times. It will turn yellow when active. When you start a challenge it will reset your current run. Leaving the challenge just removes the challenge handicaps and you can finish the run normally.

Prior to attempting challenges, it is recommended to finish several things to make sure you are ready:

  • Achievements that provide bonuses to you up to achievement 40. That should be pretty easy to do, most of them come naturally as you progress the game.
  • Infinity Upgrades up to 7;1 are recommended, but you can start without them as well.

Here are some basic milestones for the challenges to know when to start them:

  • Challenge 1 - immediately after unlocking challenges.
  • Challenge 2 - can be done right after challenge 1.
  • Challenge 3 - all upgrades up to, including column 8, 2nd first gen.
  • Challenge 4 - 1st second gen. Column 9 upgrades can also make it faster.
  • Challenge 5 - immediately after challenge 4.
  • Challenge 6 - immediately after challenge 5.
  • Challenge 7 - all upgrades up to, including column 13, 3rd first gen.
  • Challenge 8 - all upgrades up to, including column 14, 4th first gen.
  • Challenge 9 - immediately after challenge 8.

Now let's move on to the detailed challenge guides so you will know exactly what to do.

Challenge 1[edit source]

Revolution Idle Challenge 1.png

Promotions 2 and 4 are disabled, meaning that we can only use Mult Gain Mult and Ascension Power.

This challenge can be attempted after Challenges are unlocked.

The challenge itself isn't that hard, since we have all those multipliers, but lacking the Promotion 2 for Laps/s bonuses is a bit annoying.

Average completion time ~40 minutes?
Reward: Promotions 2 and 4 are stronger.

Challenge 2[edit source]

Revolution Idle Challenge 2.png

Ascension Power will be divided by 4, making our circles ascension weaker.

This challenge can be attempted straight after Challenge 1.

Pretty easy challenge, nothing too special here, with all the Infinity upgrades we managed to get before unlocking Challenges it won't take too long.

Average completion time ~ 20 minutes.
Reward: Ascension power is multiplied by 1.2.

Challenge 3[edit source]

Revolution Idle Challenge 3.png

This challenge will handicap our exponent, making out income lower and growth slower.

Should be attempted when both 8 Infinity upgrades are acquired and after purchasing a First Generator (you should own 2 of them) in the Generators tab.

Overall the challenge isn't that tough, it will just take slower. For me it took about 30 minutes and required several promotions and prestiges. Overall, it's a normal run with slower Revolution Points gain.

Average completion time ~ 30 minutes.
Reward: +0.03 to base exponent.

Challenge 4[edit source]

Revolution Idle Challenge 4.png

This challenge will handicap us with lower Prestige and Promote gains, they will be powered to ^0.4, meaning it will be harder and harder to get higher values.

Should be attempted when both 9;1 and 9;2 Infinity upgrades are acquired and after purchasing 1 Second Generator in the Generators tab.

Revolution Idle Challenge 4 Promotions.png

Even though it might sound daunting in reality it's not so bad. Buildup and progress will be a bit slower, but if you will follow standard tactics we went through in the Revolution Idle Beginners Guide for Prestige and Promote you should be ok. In short, prestige when there are meaningful gains in several orders of magnitude (from 10 to 1000, from e10 to e13-e14 and so on) and work on the Promotions in their order from 1 to 4. No need to wait for really high values, get Mult Gain Mult to about 30 first, then Laps Speed to 2-3 and move from there. You might need to do several more Promotes than usual to level everything up, but keep in mind that Promotion 1 is scaling better than the rest, so upgrade it for the final push.

Overall for Challenge 4 Generators with all the upgrades managed to improve my mult gain by 100k and it took only 30 minutes or so.

Things really slowed down around 80% to infinity at e260 range, but with several more prestiges spaced out a bit more and final Mult Gain Mult Promotion to lvl 35 I've managed to sneak up to 100% and get the victory.

Revolution Idle Challenge 4 Infinities.png

If you feel that things are still going too slow, leave the game running afk for a bit to build up more generator multipliers and then you should clear it no problem.

Another Tip, you might want to turn off Auto Ascension for the Red circle to keep up the higher Laps/s and manually ascend it when ready. Also you can turn off autobuy when closing in on 100% since Infinity is triggered off your current Revolution Score (cash).

Finishing this Challenge will also finish Four of Nine Achievement and grant you x2 IP Gain multiplier on top of the normal rewards.

Average completion time ~ 1 hour.
Reward: +1 level to all promotions after infinity.

Challenge 5[edit source]

Revolution Idle Challenge 5.png

All promotions are MUCH WEAKER during this challenge.

This challenge can be attempted straight after Challenge 4.
I actually bought additional First Generator (total 3) before doing this and other challenges, so they were a bit faster.

In this Challenge we will rely more on infinities and cycling promotions again. And yes, Promotions will be extremely weak, for example Mult Gain Mult will only add x1.12 at lvl 40, where it usually adds much much more.

Revolution Idle Challenge 5 Promotions.png

I've waited until level 70-80 for most of the Promotions and just cycled them once to get a bit more multipliers for my run.

Most likely you can completely ignore promotions for this run since they don't add that much and just wait for your Infinity Upgrades and Generators to build up and use them to finish the run, Prestiging when P.Mult raised high enough to be worth it.

Average completion time ~ 20 minutes.
Reward: All promotions are a bit stronger now

Challenge 6[edit source]

Revolution Idle Challenge 6.png

All Mults are Decaying Fast.

This challenge can be attempted straight after Challenge 5.

This one is actually pretty fun, each multiplier earned decreases over time, so you will need to upgrade the heck of your circles and multipliers to reach Infinity.

The only thing that decays are multipliers that Circle creates when they do Lap, so focusing on Prestige and Promote will help to finish this challenge faster.

Challenge 6 is very easy. Once you will get some Promotions it will be done.

Average completion time ~ 4 minutes.
Reward: All Generators are twice as strong.

Challenge 7[edit source]

Revolution Idle Challenge 7.png

All Mults are divided by (time in infinity)2.

Should be attempted when all Infinity upgrades including 13 (Autowork) are acquired and after purchasing another First Generator (you should own 3 of them) in the Generators tab.

Challenge 7 is pretty fun as well, it's basically a speedrun, the longer you stay, the higher penalty will be.

Turn off auto prestige, auto promote and auto ascend for Red circle. We need to be efficient here. Use all your skills and knowledge to maximize the gains in the early game. Keep Red unascended unless Yellow is ready to ascend (check it manually), so it can have at least lvl 50 after the Ascension to keep the laps/s up.

Try to get to your first Mult Gain Mult lvl 4-5 Promote (x11 and higher) ASAP do prestige at ~ x20-x30, x200-x300 and x10,000-x15,000 multipliers to get there faster. Afterwards it's pretty straightforward, build up to next Promote for Laps/s at lvl 5-10 (x3 speed and higher) and then you are good to go. Couple more Promotions for other multipliers (I went lvl 25 on Promotion 3 and lvl 40 on Promotion 4 and lvl 70 on Promotion 1 again) and you will feel how progress is speeding up.

And just like that, you finished Challenge 7.

Average completion time ~ 18 minutes.
Reward: All Mults are multiplied by (time in infinity)0.2.

Challenge 8[edit source]

Revolution Idle Challenge 8.png

Ascensions are disabled.

Should be attempted when both 14 Infinity upgrades (First for the first and Efficiency) are acquired and after purchasing another First Generator (you should own 4 of them) in the Generators tab.

In the challenge 8 we have to rely on our Prestige and Promotions for the score growth, since Circles will stay on ascension 1 and their multiplier gain will be somewhat limited.

As always follow the standard promotion order, do a few rounds. Sweet spot is somewhere around lvl 90-100 for the promotions where you can wait it out, prestige when you get significant multiplier gain and finish Challenge 8.

Average completion time ~ 12 minutes.
Reward: +2 to base ascension power.

Challenge 9[edit source]

Revolution Idle Challenge 9.png

You have only four colors.

This challenge can be attempted straight after Challenge 8.

Only first 4 circles will be available: Red, Orange, Yellow and Green. Focus on your Promotions as always, but mostly this is a waiting game, this challenge can take anywhere from 1 to 2 hours, so we will need Generator multipliers to build up.

Automate your Prestige, do Promotions when there are significant increase in multipliers and wait. There are not that many things you can do to finish challenge 9 faster, mostly you just need to grind it out, but the rewards for finishing the challenges well worth it.

Average completion time ~ 1-2.5 hours.
Reward: Double infinities gain.

And with that you can now Break Infinity that will allow you to reset at will.

You will still need to go through these challenges later to lower the completion time for better multipliers later.

Improving Challenge times[edit source]

After you Break Infinity you will still need to do challenges every time you buy some Infinity Upgrades. That will allow to bonuses that scale from Total Challenge time to scale better and give you significant boost.

In order to attempt Challenges again fix infinity or set automate infinity on 1 min IP and 0.005 time.

Make sure that Automate Buyables and Ascensions is on. Turn off Automate Promotions.

A good tip is to use keyboard hotkeys if you are doing them manually and playing from the PC. P goes for Prestige and 1,2,3,4 for their respective Promotes.

Best strat is to do them manually early on, until you will reach around 1-2 seconds completion time.

Afterwards you can turn off Automate Prestige and just get them to infinitiy without it. After a round of challenges do another one with Automate Prestige on 0 Min exponent gain and Min time and 1e20 on Min P.Mult Gain. That should give you a good time for all the challenges.

You can also try to set Automate Prestige with min everything and set min.time to 0.3s. and tune the time to see if you get better result.

For Challenge 9 I found that something like Automate Prestige on 1e10 min P.mult Gain works better, but you have to experiment and find your sweet spots.

In any case, do a few tries and go back to the farming, you will do better with the next Infinity Upgrade and more infinities completed.
