Revolution Idle Eternity Guide.jpg

Revolution Idle Eternity mechanics Is the second major prestige layer in the game and it unlocks whole new layer of gameplay. You can earn Eternities and Eternity Points (EP), get additional stat bonuses that scale with Eternities, unlock Animals and Eternity Challenges and more.

This guide is part of Revolution Idle Guides series, where you can find the rest of the guides on the game.

Eternity unlocks upon reaching 1.79e308 Infinity Points. Once you will reach that amount, IP will stop generating and you will get an option to Eternate. This will reset all previous progress except for achievements and soul purchases and will give you eternity bonuses for the stats:

  • Mult Gain x2
  • Lap Speed x2
  • Ascension Power x1.10
  • Infinity Gain x2
  • Generators power x2.14
  • Stardust Gain x10

Those stat multipliers will persist through Eternities and will scale as you gain more and more Eternities.

Eternity Walkthrough[edit source]

Revolution Idle First Eternities Completion Times

On your first Eternity there are not that many things that will be different. Stat multipliers can help you to beat Eternity faster, but don't expect an easy ride. Things will get easier for sure, but if you get stuck somewhere, feel free to rely on Revolution Idle Ultimate Beginners Guide, since most things will be the same, just a bit faster and easier.

Once you reach challenges it will be pretty much the same as in the Revolution Idle Challenges Guide, but times will be about 2 times faster.

Overall, just grind it through and get to your second Eternity. Second Eternity will be even faster than the first one and when you finish it, you will unlock Eternity Zoo with Animals.

Make sure to claim all available Animal Points (AP) before performing Eternity reset.

This video features the basics of the Eternity mechanics in Revolution Idle:

Some Eternity completion times for you to have an estimate time in each Eternity early on (based on my lazy sub-optimal playthrough):

  • Eternity 1: 7 days
  • Eternity 2: 24 hours
  • Eternity 3: 13 hours
  • Eternity 4: 5 hours
  • Eternity 5: 90 minutes

On Eternity 3 you will unlock Zoo and be able to buy your first Animal. Cat is the first available animal and it will multiply IP gain by your eternities. This will significantly improve your future progress.

You can visit Zoo and Animals Guide for more detailed guide on the Animals section of the game.

Another thing that you will unlock is Slowdown. It's a useful feature that slows down your circles, but gives them free Ascension. You can add and remove Slowdown as you go. Consider it as a gear shift, it should boost IP gain significantly.

Keep doing Eternities until you unlock Eternity Challenges at 8 Eternities. First one can be completed straight away, but it's better to do some more fast runs and get 4 Animals. Visit Revolution Idle Eternity Challenges Guide for more info and walkthrough of Eternity Challenges.

After you finish your first challenge get back to grinding. You will need to farm 32 Eternities to unlock Eternity Break. Do not worry though, most of them will take a couple of minutes and you will unlock a lot of automation options as you go. Most of them just needs to be turned on and you are good to go.

Now do couple of Eternity Break runs without doing Eternity resets early to farm more resources and trade them for AP to buy more animals. Once you are done with those runs and got some new Animals (it's recommended to get 2;4 and 2;4 for faster Lap Speed) it is time to go for another Eternity Challenge Difficulty.

Afterwards, you are powerful enough to start farming eternities, adjust your automation settings to your needs and get to the 100 Eternities to unlock the final Eternity Milestone and get access to additional IP multiplier.

Once there, you should be able to work on getting more animals, unlock the ones you need or the cheap ones and get your way to 7 Animals. That's when you will unlock Laboratory. Laboratory requires EP to start producing Research points, so save up a bit of those and buy the multipliers at the top. Put Research Points into the Generator Power Exponent and Common Exponent at the bottom at a rate of 1:2 or 1:3. Ignore the rest of the Research. You can always Respec Lab Upgrades and get all invested RP back at the cost of resetting the current Eternity. Feel free to experiment and get what you need. Try to upgrade Laboratory often, since it will give you significant and essential boost to the progression.

Walkthrough of the Challenges and Lab unlock video:

At this point game progress is getting a bit chaotic, so it's hard to get a solid path forward, but your goals should be getting 10 animals, that way Promotions will not reset anything and eventually to 20 animals.

Once you are done with the sup 10 AP animals move to the 6;2-6;5 Animals, they give decent IP gain bonuses and will allow you to progress faster, but do not ignore cheaper options if you can get to the 20 animals milestone.

While you are progressing with animals, you can try to do more Eternity challenges. The rule of thumb here is start the challenge, give it about 30-60 secs to build up and compare the Goal and your current Score. If the difference is significant, it will take too long to get there, just abandon the Challenge and attempt the next one. You will be able to do couple of challenges and unlock Milestone 2, now Prestige resets nothing.

Once 8 challenges are completed Supernova will be available. It's an upgrade mechanics that will reset your current eternity and will add a lot of multipliers. Do it when you can, there are no downsides.

When you grind to 20 animals you will be able to do some relatively longer runs without resetting Eternity and get significant growth, that will allow you to buy more AP and animals. At this stage you should cycle 3 types of runs:

  1. Long run with auto eternity and auto infinity off, to get higher Score and IP, use it to buy AP
  2. Short runs with EP reset on the somewhat high EP number that can be achieved fast enough (usually around 5-30 seconds)
  3. Eternity Farm Runs with fastest Eternity Reset

Between those you can buy more Animals, upgrade Laboratory, and attempt Challenges. Rince and repeat.

Game will slow down at some point, but soon speed will pick up again and your progression will be crazy fast. Make sure to get at least 5-10k Eternities to get the basic multipliers and push forwards through animals and supernovas.

Attempt Eternity Challenges from time to time. Start the challenge, wait for the buildup to finish (~1 minute) and see if you are close to the challenge goal. If not - leave the challenge and move on to the next one.

Just like that you will be able to push through the rest of the Eternity layer all the way to Dilation.

Eternity Milestones[edit source]

Eternity milestones activate upon gaining required number of Eternities. They give various bonuses, multipliers, unlock more gameplay features and provide a lot of QoL.

Eternity Zoo[edit source]

Revolution Idle Zoo with Cat unlocked

Eternity zoo is a list of Animals that player is able to buy using Animal Points. Animal points can be acquired by exchanging other currency, but each next exchange will get more and more expensive. Here are the basic values for the exchange:

  • 1AP = 2 EP (Eternity Points)
  • 1AP = 1e300 IP (Infinity Points)
  • 1AP = 1e30000 Score

Make sure to buy AP with your IP and Score before performing Eternity Reset.

Once you get enough Animal Points you will be able to unlock more Animals. Animals tab is a 9x9 grid, where you can only buy animals next to the ones you already unlocked/bought. You start at 1;1 by Buying a Cat.

It is possible to Respec Animals. This will reset Eternity and will give back all spent Animal Points.

Each Animal will give specific bonuses, so pick the ones that will benefit your run more. It's recommended to start with going towards 1;5 node, by getting Cat, Dog and so on and then getting 2;5.

Video featuring additional Eternity Mechanics as they are unlocked, like Zoo, Animals, Slowdown and Challenges:

Afterwards try to complete first 20 animals that are the cheapest. When you are done with that aim for 6;2 to 6;9 Animals, they give most useful bonuses.

You can visit Zoo and Animals Guide for more detailed info.

When you are done with that get anything you want, rest of the animals aren't that special and don't give any insanely good bonuses.

Once all animals are unlocked Dilation will be unlocked.

Slowdown[edit source]

Slowdown is available after third Eternity reset and it allows players to sacrifice some lap speed for a free Ascension. It is possible to add and remove slowdown effects as you go, so do not be afraid to use it. You can activate Slowdown or add additional stack once all your circles have lap speed that is higher than 10. Circle that has Lap speed higher than 1 will get their speed divided by 10, circles with speed of 1 and lower will get less of a speed decrease

Most of the time Slowdown will be a beneficial thing, so try to add more slowdown stacks when they are available. If you get stuck or things go to slow because of Prestige or Promote trigger remove one stack of Slowdown. This way you can boost your IP gains significantly, but it will require manual control of a Slowdown stacks.

I personally adjusted Automation settings to have less resets. Promotes to +50 Lv, Automate Prestige to 1e10 P.Mult Gain. It seems to be more effective with lower number small resets to avoid often Slowdown shifts.

Supernova[edit source]

Supernova is another upgrade mechanics that will add additional multipliers for the player and requires specific amount of Score to be triggered. Once activated it will reset current Eternity (nothing to be worried about) and will add the multipliers. Push it when you can, you can't go wrong with getting higher Supernova.

The best way to push for the higer Supernova is making a long run, where Auto Eternity and Auto Infinity is deactivated. It will allow to slowly gain more and more Score and build up generators, which will allow to get closer to the requires milestones. Don't forget to manually activate Slowdown if you can for an extra oomph.

Dilation[edit source]

Dilation is endgame feature that adds multiple negative modifiers for the run. When player exit Dilation, high score is saved and based on the High Score players will get Dilation Points income that can be used for the various upgrades.

For more information on the Dilation visit Dilation Guide.
