Revolution Idle Dilation Guide.jpg

Revolution Idle Dilation mechanics introduces additional negative multipliers for the Dilation runs. It is unlocked when all the Animals are bought and resides in a separate Eternity tab. You can start and finish Dilation run at any time, and you will get Dilation Points (DP) based on the highest amount of Score reached.

This guide is part of Revolution Idle Guides series, where you can find the rest of the guides on the game.

When you enter a Dialtion you will have a list of penalties (negative multipliers) that will be effective during the run:

  • Power: /25
  • Gen Exp: /1,000
  • Star Exp: /100
  • Ascend Pow: ^0.10
  • Laps Speed: ^0.10 then /10
  • IP Gain: ^0.01

Those negative multipliers can be softened using the Dilation Upgrade #1. It is essential to lower them to ensure smoother experience during Dilation runs.

This video covers Dilation basics:

Dilation Walkthrough[edit source]

For your first Dilation Run it's recommended to do a quick run for 10 minutes or maybe even less and exit the Dilation. It will allow to start farming Dilation Points over time and do Dilation Upgrades as well.

Your first Dilation runs will be very slow and will require a bit of micromanagement. Make sure to turn off Autoascend for red and do it manually, just like we did in the Beginners Guide. You can use some Time Flux for the speed ups or time warps to get the faster start.

Reset only when you can get a bigger Max Score. My personal favorite is aiming for x1.5 Max Score each Dilation run, but sometimes lower numbers are fine as well. Try to aim for the highest max score you can get. Rule of thumb is if your Score stop rising fast enough, it's time to reset Dilation run.

Once you will reach Infinity things will get faster. Keep in mind that currently You will not get additional IP with Time Flux speed ups and time warps.

Even though you are getting Infinity Points automatically now, if you can make efficient IP resets under 1 second that will speed the things up. Experiment with automation settings and see if it works for you.

At this point you will do following runs cycle:

  1. Start a Dilation
  2. Build up, activate Auto Infinity, build up IP for Generators and Infinity Upgrades that are reachable in first 5-10 minutes
  3. Turn off Auto Infinity, let generators and multipliers to build up, increase Slowdown when it helps. Get maximum Score
  4. Leave Dilation
  5. (Optional) Build up some Eternities with Eternity Reset automation on 1
  6. (Optional) Attempt another Supernova run, try to finish the Challenges

When deciding between Dilation Upgrade #1 and #2 it's recommended to get upgrade #2 early on, since you are still building up anyway, and #1 when you are in a Score Buildup phase, so it will allow to push further and get higher Max Score. But overall, just buy what's available for you right now.

Eventually you will build up enough Score and Dilation Points Income to start buying Dilation Upgrades 4. At that stage you should be able to do additional Supernovas.

From here all you need to do is cycle the different upgrades and push yourself forward following Revolution Idle Eternity Challenges Guide.

Eventually you will finish all the challenges and unlock Dilation Tree. It will still take a while to get your first Dilation Tree Point (DTP) to make use of the bonuses.

The easiest way to push towards the first DTP if to use small chunks of Time Flux and properly cycle your upgrades as always. Get Supernovas, Labs, Dilation Upgrades. Make sure your Labs are properly configured (1 Gen Power Exponent : 5 Common Exponent ratio). Your final goal is to get high enough Dilation Points Income to be able to get the first Dilation Tree Point:

Dilation Points Income needed for first Dilation Tree Point
DP/s Hours to get 1 DTP
2.78e23 1
1.39e23 2
5.5e22 5
2.78e22 10

So basically, you want to get as close to 1e23 DP/s as possible to be able to get your first DTP in a reasonable time or go a bit lower and leave it for overnight run.

Focusing on Dilation Upgrade #2 seems to be the best option, especially closer to the required income, since upgrades are getting more and more expensive. Use Time Flux 10 min bursts to get through the upgrades faster and when ready for a long haul either use Offline Flix, Time Flux or just leave the game running idle for a while.

At this point your gameplay will drastically change and you should use various Dilation Tree Builds to focus specific aspects of the gameplay, one at a time.

You can read Dilation Tree Guide for Dilation Tree progression tips and look for builds that will maximize your gains. Do not be afraid to reset your Dilation Tree Points, since the penalties are not so scary as they seem, you will get lost progress back almost instantly and will get way more than you had before.
