Bang Bang Survivor Beginners Guide.jpg

Bang Bang Survivor Beginners Guide will help new and experienced players to get better understanding of the game, explain its game mechanics, good and bad skills, strategy against specific enemies and stages and list overall tips for the players to get better at the game. It will help both F2P and Paying players, but overall it's written from the F2P Perspective.

Bang Bang Survivor is a combination of a tower defense game with some roguelike progression mechanics and idle reward system. This means that it is extremely important to push as far as possible to make sure that you unlock additional game modes and gain maximum idle/daily income for faster growth and progression.

Beginner Strategy[edit source]

Of source it's up to you how to play the game, but if you wish to grow as fast as possible your best bet would be focusing on the maximizing level growth and getting to the max stage to get most afk rewards.

In order to do that we need to make sure that we do all those things daily:

  • Use all the stamina you have per day
  • Claim Patrol rewards every 8 hours (at least try to)
  • Make sure to do as many daily missions as you can for extra rewards
  • Do all Hall of Trials game modes every day
  • Join the Legion when you can and make sure to do Exotic Challenge and do Legion Donations for extra rewards as well as Missions.
  • Add Friends to send and receive extra Stamina
  • Do the Events when they are available

If you will be able to do everything the game can offer you every day, your progress will be way faster.

Video Guide[edit source]

Here is a Beginners Guide video for easier comprehention highlighting the basic mechanics.

Stamina Usage[edit source]

Stamina is your basic energy resource that will allow you to start the battles and claim extra afk rewards. It regenerates at a rate of 1 stamina / 6 minute and can be replenished from friends and Cafeteria. Cafeteria provides 15*4 stamina per day and it should be saved for events where you can use it to get more event currency.

As for the spending Stamina there are 4 main ways of doing so:

  1. Normal Common Battles - You need to do those if you want to push (and there is a chance of you succeeding) or if you can do 50% or 100% clear on previous stages to claim the extra rewards.
  2. Elite Stages - Those are the main way you will spend your stamina. There is an additional reward if your teammate have lower amount of Battle Power / Attack, so try to utilize that too. It can be tricky and time consuming, but will help. Otherwise just go for the highest Elite stage and make sure to invite other players to make it faster and easier. "Recruit" button will send an automated invite message to the world chat, while "Quick Invite" will send invites to everyone who is listed on the current team-up request. Using both is perfectly fine.
  3. Hall of Trials Global Rescue - Now this is my favorite way of spending stamina. When you initiate the run you will have to spend 10 stamina and 1 ticket. Tickets are being awarded daily, so don't forget to claim it. The other way is to look for an invite in the world chat and try to get in. It can be extremely tricky, moreover it will require quite a lot of firepower to make sure you can win and help your weaker teammate.

Usually, you will just want to do your ticket run and spend the rest of the stamina on the Elite stages to save your time. Going minmaxing will be a major time investment, so be mindful of that.

Gold[edit source]

Gold is one of the main currencies in Bang Band Survivor and it's mainly used for Skill and Gear Craft upgrades. I would adivse to prioritize the Gear Craft if you have the gear blueprints and focus on some specific Core Skills, instead of unpgrading everything you have. Good options are EM Spike and Armored Vehicle, but you can check Bang Bang Survivor Skills Tierlist for more detailed info.

It's important to mention that at some point you would like to upgrade all skills to specific levels (usually closest milestone), it will also give you crit damage, but make sure to prioritize the skills that you actually use.

All other upgrades do not cost that much gold in early game and can be easily purchased at any time.

Diamonds[edit source]

Diamonds are a premium currency in Bang Bang Survivor and it is really hard to get for F2P players. You get some from the daily missions, but that's about it.

Daily Diamonds Sources:

Regular Diamond Sources
Source Diamonds
Daily Mission 50

Make sure to spend Diamonds wisely. Early on it's ok to open some Brilliant Chests to get extra Gems to help you out, but once you get your basics done save them up.

After you are done with the very early game stages you will be starved on Diamonds, since you won't be to push through a lot of levels.

At this point the right way of spending diamonds is purchasing the discounted keys in the Legion Daily Bargain (you can get Purple Brilliant Chest Keys packs with a great discount here) or in the Base discounts (they appear from time to time in the left bottom corner). If you will see any other good deals in Daily Bargain that you feel like you really need, take them, just make sure that you have about 1k diamonds saved up for other occasions.

There is also another extreme strategy for using Diamonds. It involves saving up diamonds until you can get something from the event with guaranteed chance. It takes a lot of patience to execute that strategy and might take months to do, so it's not for the faint of heart.
For example the current Force Wheel Event guarantees Skin in 100 Draws. Event last for a week, so it's 7 free pulls and 93 Diamond ones. x5 draw costs 580 Diamonds. So, in order to get guaranteed rewards in this event you will need to save up 11k Diamonds.

Equipment[edit source]

In the equipment tab you upgrade all your gear that you take to the combat. It will also be one of the main ways you increase your Attack. It's important to focus on all equipment upgrade areas, since they give a lot of stats and Attack is extremely important and scales your skills as well.

Gear[edit source]

Gear equipment pieces provide additional Attack by default and offer 5 Gem slots each. As you get better rarity Gear it will also give extra stats: Gun ATK and One of the Elements ATK. Gear is also divided in tiers, where each higher tier provide higher base and extra stats. It is important to try to acquire better tier gear when you go to the new stages (every 5 stages you get rarity increase, every 10 stages tier increase).

Gear Enchance mechanics allow you to get additional attack by upgrading the gear slot with Blueprints and Gold. Do not worry, the actual gear pieces are not being upgraded and can be switched at any time without losing the extra Attack stats. So, consider Gear Enhance as an additional Attack progression mechanics.

Gear Ascend though is a totally different thing, here you will upgrade specific Gear pieces with Craft Stones and that will increase their Basic and Extra Stats. When you Decompose the Ascended gear you will get most of the invested resources back, but it's not 100%.
You can also Refine the gear piece. It will roll its Extra stats randomizing the Extra Gun Attack and change second attack element. After you perform the refine you can either agree and apply the new stats or stay with your previous stats.

Gems[edit source]

Gems can increase your character's specific stats, upgrade skills or add special effects to the skills and gun. 5 of the same rarity gems of the same slot can be merged together to get random higher rarity gem of the same slot.

There are vast variety of gems available, but most of the time getting offensive stats works best for newer players. Getting the proper gems takes RNG and time, but it's essential for success and growth.

Some of the Best in Slot gems for Bang Bang Survivor:

  • Attack
  • +Fort HP, -DMG Received
  • DMG +% within 400 range of the Fort
  • +DMG for your build type (physical, electric, wind, fire etc.)

Gun[edit source]

Gun upgrade is located in the separate tab, under the gun icon. It's pretty linear, basically it includes minor gun upgrades, the only worthwhile nodes are damage, crit and the ones that removes the -Damage for the inlevel gun upgrades.

In the warehouse you can activate the weapon skin to get extra gun damage. Skin dmg bonuses are cumulative and based on the unlocks, so you do not need to equip the best skin to get its bonus.

Core[edit source]

Core is a place where you upgrade all your skills. When you level up the skill it will have better stats ingame and will also increase overall Crit Damage. When skill level reaches specific milestone it unlocks additional options that can be picked on the weapon upgrade during the battle or some passive bonuses.

Although do not go overboard with skill upgrading, since it gets expensive pretty fast. Focus on several skills that you like the most.

If you need help figuring out whats the best skills you might want to check out Bang Bang Skills Tierlist.

Base[edit source]

Base is a special area where you can get access to additional game modes, upgrades and other nice features. Most of the base content is locked behind the player level and it's essential to unlock most of it ASAP.

Hall of Trials[edit source]

Hall of trials is probably the most important part of the base, where player can fight additional game modes for extra rewards.

Abyss Challenge allows to fight random enemy waves with modifiers that gets stronger progressively. You will get some fort materials for conqueting each tier, but not so much to make a significant difference.

Global Rescue is amazing coop game mode where you will have to fight powerful enemy waves and get some really good loot in return. Usually this is the best source of high end gear, that allows you to get equipment that is higher tier than the one you normally get from the elite battles.

Final crisis is a world boss, your goal is to deal as much damage as possible and then get rewards based on the damage and leaderboard position. Active daily.

Battle arena is a competitive game mode, where players try to take over each other forts. The higher the ranking is - the more Battle Insignias you will get per hour (game mode currency). This game mode shop is the easiest way to get skill books.

In Foggy Maze you will have to go through progressively stronger enemy waves and obtain skills. Max cap of skills is 30. This is the best source of Mecha Chips and Terminals.

Fort[edit source]

Fort upgrade menu allows you to upgrade the fort , adjust it's appearance using skins and assign fort skills. The most noteworthy upgrades are Reduce Damage Taken by the Fort, Chance to bounce bullets back and % to reduce the DMG to 0.

Research Lab[edit source]

Research Lab is a simple roster of enemy units. When you encounter new enemy you can get some gems here.

Cafeteria[edit source]

Cafeteria provides extra stamina for players. You get 4 stamina meals per day and they last 30 days. The best option is to save them up for the events where you need to spend stamina to get event currency and try to go for a better prize. Claiming All is usually bad idea, since it makes your stamina overflow and halts your natural stamina regen effectively wasting it.

Tavern[edit source]

You can summon mercenaries here, using the recruit tickets. Good source of Gold and Enhancement Potions. Pretty straightforward.

Legion[edit source]

Legion tab allows you to take part in the Legion activities. Main things to notice here are Mission Hall with daily legion missions, Legion Donations and Exotic Challenge. Exotic Challenge is a Legion Boss Fight that rewards players with plenty of Legion Coins. Spend those in the Legion Store for the things that you need. I recommend getting Gun Blueprint daily, as well as Global Rescue Tickets and Recruitment Orders. The rest is up to you.
