Path of Exile 2 Minion Witch Walkthrough Guide Act 1
This is part one for the full Path of Exile 2 Minion Witch guide and walkthrough series. It will help beginner players to get a good start and proper character development for smooth progression through the game. This part will focus on the first act of the game.
Gameplay[edit source]
This build focuses on minions gameplay. You will be followed by a party of skeletons, fiery skeletons and even a doge that will do all your dirty work. You can play either by pressing 2 buttons, or utilizing your whole set, boosting your and your team's damage.
Follow this guide to beat any boss at first try without even really pulling a sweat!
Tutorial[edit source]
Talk to the Wounded Man and get your first wand, and go further until you will find a chest. Don't bother killing all the enemies on your way, do it if only it's necessary. Loot and equip scepter from it. Scepter and shield will be our choice of weapons. Follow the path and loot and equip Unearth skill gem.
If you did not skip the tutorial, you will face an invisible wall until you use Unearth skill.
We are now ready to face the first boss. He is not that hard, just use your basic attack while your skeletons from scepter are tanking. When he charges attacks, dodge them, when he summons adds, use Unearth until you summon max scorpions. Kill the boss, take all the loot and spend your first talent point.
Focus on the left path that gives you and your minions more damage. Don't worry, you will be able to respec later. Enter the Clearfell encampment. Talk to all the NPC’s, get your first Uncut gem and learn Skeletal Archer. It will give you additional summon for your spirit resource and a nice CD ability. Don't forget that you can see not only recommended support skills, but all that will fit that current skill by toggling it (that will be important later on). Dont spam your Wisdom Scrolls just yet, you will be able to id items for free a little bit later once you free the Hooded Man (just store your blues in chest and id only stuff you need prioritizing rares)
Starting out[edit source]
From now on, we won’t be so specific at every step, and focus on short and long term goals.
Skills you want to use right now (focus support that gives most damage):
- Skeletal warrior (from the scepter) supported by Meat Shield and Last Gasp
- Unearth supported by Persistence (good to take first)
- Contagion
Put Contagion on the enemy, then kill it and use Unearth on the corpse. Not only will it spread, but will also summon a scorpion that will spread Contagion even further this will be your main rotation for now for packs. Later you will add "Essence Drain" to this combo.
Talent tree[edit source]
Start with "Spell and Minion Damage" and go up to "Raw Destruction" notable. Then head up to "Power of the Dead" and pick small nodes including required attributes and head for "Living Death" notable. After taking SRS and switching to FW, consider branching to "Open Mind" notable , which will significantly improve your mana regen. After that you can head north-east to "Gravedigger" notable
Gear[edit source]
Gear to focus on:
- Helmet: max life < resistance < minion skill level
- Scepter: minion skill level < max spirit < allies deal additional damage
- Boots: movement speed < max life < resistance
- all other gear: max life < resistance < attributes < rarity of items found < Armor < etc
Skill level 3 and first aura (SRS)[edit source]
Once you reach level 3 gems, add "Essence Drain" and "Skeletal Arsonist" later on.
After you will kill The King in Mist, get Raging Spirits (or SRS for short) ability (you will need to change tab to pick it). After you will get SRS, get Flame Wall ability from Elemental Tab.
Skills and supports[edit source]
Skills you want to use right now (focus support that gives most damage):
- Skeletal warrior (from the scepter) + Meat Shield and Last Gasp
- Flame Wall + Arcane Tempo (good to take first) and Fortress (optional)*Skeletal Arsonist + Scatter Shot and Magnified Effect
- Raging Spirits + Fire Infusion and Execute
- Unearth (optional for max dps but more active gameplay) + persistence (optional)
- Pain Offering + persistence (optional)
Additional Tips[edit source]
Here are some additional tips tips that will allow you to progress easier in Path of Exile 2:
- Always upgrade your flask for new ones
- At every location be sure that you finish every side objective (find specific loot, kill boss, etc) as they will give you nice upgrades. If the icon of activity is bright, it is not finished, if its darkened, then it's done.
- Pick up superior and items with sockets, you can salvage them for special currency items
- sell blue items that is more than 100 gold, disenchant the others until you have around 20 Transmutauon Shards for crafting
